Definition: Omega-6 is a class of polyunsaturated fatty acids that occur in vegetable oils, meats, eggs, certain nuts and beans. Omega-6 fatty acids are different from omega-3 fatty acids, and they can increase inflammation, blood clotting, and cell proliferation, if consumed habitually in excessive amounts.
