Definition: CBC, or Complete Blood Count, is a routine blood test done regularly when treating or screening for many conditions, including breast cancer. A sample of your blood will be drawn and tested to get a count of the elements in your blood: red blood cells (RBC), white blood cells (WBC) and platelets.

Also Known As: blood cell count
Examples: A CBC will be used to test for anemia (low red blood cell count), dehydration, infection, allergies, and blood clots, among other conditions.
