The Health Authority of Abu Dhabi provides this app in English and Arabic. It includes a monthly self-check reminder that you can set up. Observing the modesty of women in Arabic cultures, the breast self exam tutorial is text only - without images. The Breast Cancer App includes breast cancer facts and figures for the United States, Abu Dhabi, and worldwide. They state that in the UAE, "most women present with late stage breast cancer." In the awareness section the app provides encouragement to men to be supportive of the women in their lives. There is also information about male breast cancer.

This simple app will show you the steps of breast self-exam but its strength is the breast mapping feature. Once you know the terrain of your breast tissue, you can start to distinguish changes. This app lets you create a picture with lumps that vary in location, size, and texture. As the months pass, you can track changes or new masses on the map and you can use a photo of your own breasts if that helps you visualize. Then take your breast map with you to the doctor's office and show them your concerns. This is a good tool when going to your clinical breast exam appointment.

The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation prepared this app to help you set reminders for your breast self-exam and your clinical breast exam. The app includes instructions on doing your BSE and uses very friendly, positive language. If you've seen the "I heart boobies" breast cancer awareness bracelets, then you've seen the work of the Keep a Breast Foundation (KAB). Their work and this app are aimed at younger women, but it would be useful for any age. The KAB app includes a lot of information about the Foundation as well as instructions for your monthly BSE and a reminder feature. The self-exam artwork is more decorative than anatomical in presentation, but the text of the steps are fairly clear.
