Sonique, the BRIT-award winning singer and DJ, is going back in the operating room for another
lumpectomy. Her first operation for breast cancer was done only a week after it's discovery. Only 40 years old, Sonique, whose real name is Sonia Clark, must have more cancer removed. Her lymph nodes were found to contain cancer, so there is a possibility of metastasis. Because of her
lymph node status, Sonique faces several months of
chemotherapy. It is not yet known where else her cancer may have spread, but since she is wasting no time in getting treatment for it, I hope she has a good chance at beating this. Sonique had planned to release a new single and tour Europe this summer, but with extra surgery and possible chemo, her plans are now on hold. As a young woman, she faces the prospect of aggressive breast cancer - and as a black women, she is at increased risk for
Triple Negative breast cancer. I'm no celebrity, but I remember wanting all the privacy I could get about my diagnosis and treatment. Sonique is a public figure, and will have a hard time getting privacy during her treatment. Let's hope her fans will be supportive and respectful as she battles this disease.
Why is she not having a mastectomy and considering a bilateral mastectomy, especially since lymph nodes are involved…..
Regarding the article that addresses the plight of Sonia Clark,I have no idea who she is but God does,as a woman I understand and more so a black sister..Pam I just laid my hands on the picture and asked God to do what He does best,I asked God to show up for her,I pray that out of all of this a testimony will spring forth,declaring that Jesus is Lord!!God is still in the business of touching lives,I know He is,the Bible says that He is our Jehovah Rapha,The God that heals…so i stand in the gap for her and trust God for her miracle.
