Male breast cancer is indeed a real thing, men still have milk ducts and milk producing glands (though far fewer than women). Male breast cancer’s rate of fatality is also much higher than female due to delay in diagnose. Most male cases start in the milk ducts (ductal carcinoma) although the cancer can also start in the milk producing glands (lobular carcinoma). Family history of breast cancer, old age, obesity, liver disease, and radiation exposure are all risk factors of male breast cancer. If you have a lump, puckering or dimpling of skin, or any changes to your nipple, consult a doctor immediately and avoid becoming part of a statistic.
