Sue Biedermann, MSHP, RHIA is Chair and Associate Professor of the Health Information Management program at Texas State University. Sue has been at Texas State for 27 years, and is the new TxHIMA (Texas Health Information Management Association) President elect.
She teaches Departmental Management, Healthcare Statistics, Professional Practices, and Leadership. Sue will be a four-year breast cancer survivor in July. Her students have twice formed a team and come out to support her at Relay for Life. She said that despite fatigue from chemotherapy and radiation, she participated in the Komen Race for the Cure right after her treatment was completed. "It was a slow walk, like this," she said, referring to the victory lap. This event was her third Relay for Life.
