Definition: Crambene is a plant compound that occurs naturally in cruciferous vegetables. Crambene is one of the natural nitriles (an organic cyanide compound) known for its ability to activate specific detoxification enzymes that help your body eliminate carcinogens before they harm your genes.

Examples:
Lab studies found that when crambene was combined with indole 3-carbinol (I3C), another phytochemical found in cruficers, the anticancer activity of crambene is more active against pancreatic and liver cancer cells.
