Definition: A type of white blood cell found in the blood and lymph systems; part of the immune system.

Lymphocytes come in two general categories: b- and t- lymphocyte.

Pronunciation: LIM-fo-site
Also Known As: lymph cell
Common Misspellings: limfocite, lymfasite
Examples:
B-lymphocytes are the source of antibodies that help fight infection.
