Resolve to Drink Less, Lower Your Risk of Breast Cancer

New Year's is on the way, with parties, food, and alcohol. I'm not here to throw a wet blanket on your celebrations, rather I want to make sure you're still around for many more parties to come! Before you head out for the party or a special dinner, please resolve to drink no more than half a serving of alcohol per day, which means only:
  • 6 ounces of regular beer
  • 2.5 ounces of wine
  • 0.75 ounces of 80-proof liquor
Any kind of alcohol that you consume may change your levels of female hormones, and thus increase your risk of estrogen-receptor positive breast cancer. Eighty percent of all cases of breast cancer are estrogen-fueled. Raising a full glass daily raises your risk. Read more to find out why -
