Newlywed Man Experiences Breast Cancer

Saturday July 7, 2007
One day, Harold Southerland found a lump in his left breast. He said, "The symptoms was that I had a lump and then I felt a stinging sensation in it." He would have ignored it, but his new wife encouraged him to get the lump checked out. Southerland's diagnosis was breast cancer, which is 100 times more common in women than in men. Despite it's rarity, more than 2,000 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States.
