Brachytherapy Seeds Fight Breast Cancer

Actress Farrah Fawcett is considering internal radiation, or brachytherapy, to fight the return of her anal cancer. Brachytherapy is also used to fight breast cancer. Small bits, or seeds, of radioactive material can be temporarily placed inside the tumor to radiate it, with minimal damage to the nearby healthy tissue.
