In the Middle East, a greater percentage of women diagnosed with breast cancer die from this disease than women in American and Europe. Nancy Brinker, founder of the
Susan G. Komen Foundation and Karen Hughes, U.S. Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs participated in
the launch of a new partnership. This new program will connect middle-eastern breast cancer activists and health professionals with experts from the Komen Foundation and Johns Hopkins University. Doctors and healthcare teams will be enabled to increase awareness and improve treatment for women in the middle east.
