Epirubicin Added to Breast Cancer Arsenal

Monday November 13, 2006
Epirubicin increases survival rates and helps prevent recurrence in cases of early stage breast cancer, when added to the chemotherapy treatment known as CMF. The CMF mixture, a common chemo cocktail, is made of cyclophosphamide, methotrexate, and fluorouracil. The study was called The National Epirubicin Adjuvant Trial (NEAT) and was published in the New England Journal of Medicine by Christopher J. Poole and his coauthors.
