Pump Iron to Lift Survivor's Spirits

Wednesday September 6, 2006
Pump some iron twice a week and you may improve your outlook and improve your chances for survival of breast cancer. That's the report of a new study which will be published in the journal Cancer. This study is the first to actually use scientific methods to study the relationship between the sense of well-being of breast cancer survivors and regular exercise. The study was done on women who had been out of treatment for 3 years. Women in the control group who did no regular exercise reported no improvement in quality of life, 3 years after completing treatment for breast cancer.
